New York City...Here we come!!!
We left for Indiana to drop the kids off at Grammy and Papa's house on Monday afternoon (July 7). We planned to take a train to New York from Elkhart, IN. It was so hard to leave the kids. I knew they would be in good hands though. Our train left at 12:58 AM. It was a long trip but it was nice to sit back and relax and not have to do anything for a long time. We watched movies on the train (we brought our little DVD player and lots of DVDs). I mostly tried to sleep. It was very difficult to sleep on the train. Our train had a dining car which was pretty cool. The food was actually ok. We arrived in New York city (Penn Station) on Tuesday evening at about 7:30. We were starving! So we checked into our hotel and then walked up the street to "Friday's". After dinner we walked around Manhattan/ Times Square. It was a very neat experience. The city really doesn't sleep. We were out till about 1:00 am...and it was still crowded and as busy as ever.
On Wednesday morning we got up early and got some breakfast and then headed to the subway station to catch a train to the Bronx, (Yankee Stadium). It was neat to see the stadium in which so many famous baseball players in history had played. I still can't believe they are tearing it down. We went to Monument Park before the game started. It didn't rain until the game was all over! Great timing! After the game we took a subway train back to Manhattan and ate at Jack Dempsey's Restaurant. It was so good! Then we walked around and did a little shopping. We had promised to bring the kids back a surprise.
Thursday morning we got up early and took the subway to catch a ferry to go and see the Statue of Liberty. That was a very neat experience. We couldn't believe all of the security we had to go through. When we got back we did a little more shopping and then headed back to Penn station. We took a train back to Indiana around 4:30. The train ride back was much nicer than on the way there! We had a good time, but boy did I miss my kids! I couldn't wait to get back to see them. I really enjoyed New York! It was good to get away for awhile. Will and I really needed a break together. I definitely want to go back!

Looks like you had a good time in NYC. That was a good idea to take a train, too! Looks like the kids had fun, too. Those are sweet pictures of Ezra taking a bath.
